Summer Group Sessions
Enroll your student in a week-long program of daily, 60-minute lessons for between 2 - 4 students covering several of the most important math concepts students need to master in order to be successful in math.

Scroll down for details on the concepts covered, dates, times, locations, and price.
Concepts Covered
Monday
Mathematical Thinking
and Number Sense
(Part 1)
Students will learn how to:
-
think critically about numerical structures, connections, and patterns.
Tuesday
Multiplicative Reasoning
Students will learn how to:
-
apply concepts related to multiplication, division, and their relationships.
-
use efficient and flexible strategies and models as an alternative to the traditional standard algorithm and rote memorization.
-
apply their learning to real-life scenarios.
Wednesday
Proportional Reasoning
Students will learn how to:
-
expand their understanding of the multiplicative reasoning to proportional reasoning through the use of ratio tables.
-
scale using reciprocals, equivalent ratios, and simplifying.
-
apply their understanding of ratios in the context of real-life scenarios.
Thursday
Fractions, Decimals, and Percents
Students will learn how to:
-
recognize the relationship between fractions, decimals and percents.
-
efficiently convert from one to the other
-
when to use one form versus the others (e.g., fractions instead of decimals).
-
apply their learning in the context of real-life scenarios.
Friday
Mathematical Thinking (Part 2)
Students will learn how to:
-
apply their learning through the use of problem strings and purposeful sequences of related problems designed to help students mentally construct mathematical relationships.
Dates and Times
Session 1: July 8 - July 12
Session 2: July 15 - July 19
Session 3: July 22 - July 26
